If we can, Canary Coalition and Nueva Canarias voted in favor of ending the project “without ambiguity”, which was endorsed by Ciudadanos, while PSOE, PP and ASG did not expressly pronounce on the project and defended wait for report results commissioned by the Canary Islands Government on maritime connectivity of the western islands.
The proposal, which urges the Government of the Canary Islands “to definitively abandon the construction of the Fonsalía macroproject, as well as any budgetary investment related to it”, had 24 votes in favor (Sí Podemos, CC-PNC and NC), 13 against (PP, ASG and Cs) and 21 abstentions (PSOE).
