The Association of Communities of Owners Los Llanos to live hopes that the public administrations, the Santa Cruz City Council and the Canary Islands Government, include in their budgets for 2022 the commitments acquired in the past to provide this neighborhood of the capital of Tenerife with the minimum services that are included in the urban planning regulations.
When more than a year has passed since the announcement of a commitment to this neighborhood by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council and specifically of its mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, and of the councilors who are related to the minimum endowments for this area of the capital, assuming the drafting of an Action Plan for Improvements for Cabo Llanos, “We still do not have proof of its preparation, nor of the budgetary allocation to write it and put it into operation.“.
Given the fact that the Canary Islands public administrations are currently finalizing the preparation of their budgets for the year 2022, the Association of Neighborhood Communities ‘Los Llanos para vivir’ recalls that, since the creation of this neighborhood, located in the area of Cabo Llanos, and after twenty years of waiting, “the Law is not complied with by any of the administrations involved, as they have not so far had the various basic public facilities, despite the repeated requests made throughout these two decades.”
Faced with this situation, they make a series of concrete proposals that, according to this association, represent the first phase to be included in the Cabo LLanos Improvement Plan, as regards municipal powers.
In the first place, they indicate that they have been requesting for years the commission of the drafting of projects for the green areas planned in the Hermitage of the Virgen de la Regla and the site between the two Towers.
This association also considers of great importance the installation of a biosaludable circuit on Jose Sabaté Forns street and the covering with tarps of the two existing children’s play areas in the neighborhood (in front of Tower II, at the intersection of Jose Sabaté street Forns) to improve the conditions of use for families in this area of the capital.
Likewise, he believes that it is urgent that the Santa Cruz City Council undertake as soon as possible the adaptation of the sidewalks of Álvaro Rodriguez López street so that it complies with accessibility regulations and better adapts to the important flow of people who pass through it. .
The Association of Communities of Owners ‘Los Llanos para vivir’ has also raised with the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council the need to draft the necessary projects to adapt the fenced and asphalted space of the annex to the Virgen de la Regla Chapel as a provisional sports area.
In the relationship delivered in April 2019 in the municipal registry, this organization already raised the need for the municipal corporation to comply with the regulations in the existing lots in this area, both in terms of fencing, cleaning and uses . They propose that this compliance with the Law begins, precisely, with municipal lots.
The residents also propose a joint design of improvements in public services related to cleaning, lighting, garbage collection and maintenance of garden areas, as well as police services.
Among the requirements that this neighborhood organization also includes the need for the Santa Cruz City Council to promote joint actions with the Government of the Canary Islands, so that actions related to pending provisions in the neighborhood are considered in a comprehensive manner and that correspond to the autonomous area, such as the school or the health center, so that “they are not conceived or carried out as dislocated actions of the different Ministries, but as a joint action between the regional Executive and the Capital City Council without forgetting that they project in a neighborhood where several thousand chicharreros live ”.
This coordination aspect is particularly relevant given the latest news regarding the construction project in this area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife of the Ciudad de la Justicia, and “of which we are waiting to know details before making our positioning.”
