
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The 24-hour monitoring volcanic surveillance network of the National Geographic Institute (IGN) has recorded a total of 45 earthquakes on the island of La Palma at night with magnitudes between 0.9 and 3.2 on the Richter scale.
The largest of the earthquakes, which occurred at 03:26, had a magnitude of 3.2 and occurred in the southeast of the municipality of Tazacorte. This event was felt by the population in Los Llanos de Aridane, El Paso, Tazacorte and Mazo.
The rest of the earthquakes, located mainly in Fuencaliente, occurred between 10 and 1 kilometers deep. The last of them, of 1.6, took place at 07.05 hours at a depth of 8 kilometers and the epicenter in Fuencaliente.
Likewise, this Friday a total of 31 earthquakes of between 0.9 and 2.6 magnitude were recorded on La Palma. None of them came to be felt by the population.
