The Government of the Canary Islands extends the alert for forest fires to Tenerife

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, based on the weather forecast and in application of the Infoca (Special Plan for Civil Protection and Attention to Emergencies due to Forest Fires of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands), has expanded the alert statement due to forest fires on the island of Tenerife, adding to La Gomera, Gran Canaria and El Hierro.

The rise in temperatures will especially affect the high areas facing south and west and can reach maximums of 35ºC.
