SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) has rescued this Wednesday a 55-year-old hiker injured with a moderate lower limb trauma in the Las Cañadas del Teide area.
The events took place shortly before 12.15 pm when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert requesting health care for a hiker who had suffered a fall on trail Number 3 and he could not continue the march.
The helicopter rescued the affected person and transferred him to Tenerife Norte airport where an ambulance from the SUC took over his assistance and transferred him to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC).
At the time of the incident, a group of the Civil Guard was in the National Park that collaborated with the intervening resources.
