The Cabildo de Tenerife Roads area will undertake, from this Sunday to next Friday morning, the resurfacing of more than six kilometers of the TF-1 highway that includes from the entrance links to the Granadilla Industrial Park to the exit of Chimiche .
In a statement, the Minister of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, recalled that given the deterioration that this road presents, it is necessary to carry out an integral action, “a fundamental work to improve road safety, despite which it is executed in a sustainable way reducing the consumption of aggregates by reusing part of the material that is removed “.
The works, like every week, are carried out at night, between 10:00 p.m. and 06:00 a.m. To guarantee the safety of users and workers, it is necessary to enable temporary detours, returning to normal in the morning.
Thus, the work will focus on improving the intermediate layer of the road surface in the fast lane that runs from kilometer 48.1 to 54.4, previously removing the damaged pavement.
As a result of the detours, this Sunday, those vehicles that circulate in the direction of Tenerife Sur airport and want to access Chimiche, El Río or Las Maretas will have to continue to the link of the Granadilla Industrial Park, make a U-turn and return in the direction of Santa Cruz to the Chimiche, El Río and Las Maretas junction.
Likewise, people who want to go to the airport from this same junction should go to Santa Cruz to the Villa de Arico junction, and make the U-turn there to go south.
On Monday, vehicles that from Chimiche, El Río or Las Maretas wish to go in the direction of the airport will have to leave towards Santa Cruz until the Tajao junction, make the U-turn and join in the south direction.
Those from the Polígono de Granadilla looking to go to the airport will have to go north to the Tajao junction, make a U-turn and join in the direction of Tenerife Sur airport.
On the other hand, as of Tuesday, August 24, those vehicles traveling south will be able to continue to the San Isidro junction to make the U-turn and rejoin in the direction of Santa Cruz to the Granadilla Industrial Park junctions.
Finally, those who want to drive south from this point will have to go to Santa Cruz to make the U-turn at the Chimiche, El Río, Las Maretas junction.
