Access to Teide through Arafo is closed due to the influx of cars by the Perseids

The Cabildo de Tenerife has informed, through its Security area, that the accesses to the Teide National Park have been cut by Arafo after having exceeded the load capacity in that area.

After the images that were seen last night in the Teide National Park, with huge queues of vehicles trying to access the protected space to see the Perseids and the closure of the entrances at 10:00 p.m. by the island’s authorities, the Cabildo of Tenerife He had already warned that he would close the accesses again today if necessary, as has been the case.

The Security area of ​​the Tenerife Corporation has also reiterated during this day that “Not recommended” go to Teide due to the epidemiological situation of the Island, which is at alert level 4 due to COVID-19.

Likewise, from the Natural Environment area of ​​the Cabildo they also recall that temperatures are not right so that Teide is accessed en masse, since currently a fire risk alert has been declared and, it should be remembered, there is an enormous danger to the forest mass of this protected area.
