The University of La Laguna will proceed to carry out its usual closure of summer facilities between August 6 and 22, both inclusive.
Faculties, schools, offices and other facilities will be closed to the public and previously authorized access will only be allowed in specific cases, such as laboratories with experiments that need supervision, the teaching center reported in a statement on Thursday.
Likewise, the study rooms of the ULL-CajaCanarias student services buildings on the Anchieta and Guajara campuses will also be kept open in two daily shifts (from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ) upon request for an appointment.
To avoid administrative confusion, the Rectorate published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands on February 18 a resolution declaring non-working days that affect its scheduled closings for the year, in this case the period between August 6 to 22 , a resolution that, in any case, will not affect the calculation of the deadlines for filing appeals in administrative proceedings and claims prior to judicial proceedings against administrative acts of the institution, nor the calculation of legal deadlines.
Regarding accommodation in the institution’s halls of residence and residence halls, as of July 17 its students left the facilities, to which they will not be able to return until September 1, in the case of management teams, renovation students who is present to the September call or that they are going to take the “course 0” of any specialty; and September 20, for the remaining students who have obtained a place and processed their credentials.
The Colegio Mayor San Fernando will be open only to be able to comply with the exchange program for Administration and Services Personnel with other academic institutions in which the University of La Laguna participates.
The Electronic Headquarters, the institutional website and the email system will remain operational, although the processing of any request will be suspended until Monday, August 23, with the reopening of the academic center.
As of August 22, the administrative activity of the University of La Laguna will resume and between the 24th and 27th of that month the period will open to submit pre-registrations in the undergraduate degrees in which there have been vacancies after the ordinary period ; and between August 26 and 31 to opt for the extraordinary pre-registration of official master’s degrees.
Additionally, the call for exams in September will take place between the 1st and 15th of that month.
The new 2021-2022 academic year will begin with the solemn opening ceremony that will take place in the Auditorium on Friday, September 24, starting at 11:00.
The class period will begin the following Monday, September 27, and will run until January 21, with the first exam period set between January 26 and February 9.
Except for some notable change in the health situation, the classes of the new course will be resumed following the forecasts of the adapted face-to-face scenario established in 2020, that is, complementing the face-to-face activity in limited capacity with the classes broadcast live.
Any possible change in situation will be communicated through the official channels of the institution as soon as it is adopted.
