Arrested after starring in a hectic police chase through several streets in Tenerife

The Local Police of Granadilla de Abona, in Tenerife, has detained two people aged 28 and 38 after a police pursuit through the streets of the coastal town of El Médano, showing the one who was driving the vehicle obvious symptoms of drunkenness. The events took place last Sunday, after 9:00 p.m., when an off-road vehicle made an overtaking without respecting the continuous line of the road, so it invaded the opposite direction and forced the agents to have to dodge the car.

At that moment, they proceeded to activate the acoustic and light signals until they reached the level of the offending vehicle and told them to stop, but the driver ignored and increased speed, while avoiding two other vehicles, then initiating a persecution.

The persecution, for which the police requested the support of the rest of the patrols that were in service, ran along José Miguel Galván Bello avenue, Mencey de Abona street, Juan Carlos I avenue, Uruguay street, Maritime and Magallanes avenues and La Funny

The offenders were caught just before entering the garage, being ordered loudly to get out of the vehicle and throw themselves to the ground. When the agents controlled the two people who were inside the car, they indicated that the driver had symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.

After informing both of the reasons for their arrest, they were transferred to the police station.
