Sánchez Vows to “Scour for Votes” to Restore Cuts Made by PP and Vox

Santa Cruz de Tenerife 26 Jan. (Europa Press Televisión) –

The leader of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has stated that he will pursue votes “to the ends of the earth” to regain “the rights that the Popular Party and Vox have stripped” from citizens who voted against the Bus Law this week in the Congress of Deputies.

“In a parliament as divided as ours, I will search for votes and backing until the ends of the earth to increase pensions for our retirees. I will seek votes relentlessly for those affected in La Palma and Valencia to receive the assistance they are entitled to and require,” Sánchez declared this Sunday at the closing Torres as general secretary of the Canarian socialists.

“We will achieve it one way or another,” stated Sánchez, following the government’s loss on Wednesday in the vote concerning the Bus Law Decree, which included numerous measures such as pension increases, public transport discounts, and aid for those affected by the Dana, among others. The PP, Vox, and Junts voted against the decree.

“These social improvements for retirees, young people, workers, those affected by the Dana in Valencia, and those impacted by the volcano in La Palma, along with other social measures, we will implement them regardless,” asserted Sánchez, who paraphrased the former socialist leader Ramón Rubial, emphasising that changes are made in the Official State Gazette.

Sánchez addressed the “denial coalition” between the Popular Party and Vox, targeting its leaders Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Santiago Abascal, asserting: “After seven years in power, it seems unbelievable that we are unaware of this.”

In his criticism of the PP, Sánchez condemned that Feijóo’s party voted against pension revaluation in Congress and “then collects signatures in Congress for retirees.” “But there’s nowhere to take it,” he remarked.

According to Sánchez, “given the situation of this denial coalition opposing salary enhancements, pension improvements, and all measures included in that royal decree law, we have two choices. One is to lower our arms and concede defeat; the other is to take the necessary actions.”
