SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Roads area, has awarded the superficial rehabilitation works of the TF-21 as it passes through the municipalities of Santa Úrsula and La Orotava, a 4.7 kilometer section that has a budget of 1,464,880 euros and whose work will begin in January.

The Regional Minister of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, points out in a note that “the area in which asphalt will be executed is used by an average of 11,000 vehicles and is one of the areas with the highest traffic density on this island road, in which it is located an important commercial artery for both municipalities in the north of the island “.

For this reason, the action “is very necessary given the deterioration it presents as the current firm has exceeded its useful life”.

This restitution of the pavement joins other actions that are being carried out throughout the island, such as the integral rehabilitation of the pavement that is being carried out on both TF-1 and TF-5.

The insular director of Roads points out that “the work is expected to be completed in five months” and the objective is “to improve driving comfort and increase road safety on the highways.”

The surface rehabilitation of the TF-21 insular road surface is co-financed by the insular Administration in the Multi-annual Strategic Framework of Actions for the Development of Tenerife (MEDI, Highways Program), as well as by the Government of the Canary Islands within the framework of the Fund of Development of the Canary Islands (FDCAN).
