The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife yesterday awarded the maintenance and upkeep work for the 128 island roads with an investment of 52 million euros over the next three years. The contract contemplates actions in more than 800 kilometers of the 1,200 that, due to their characteristics, require special attention in terms of their conservation in the center, north, west and south of the Island, as well as in the Anaga area.
Likewise, the insular body approved an item of 4.1 million for different actions in the natural environment and, within the Tourism area, awarded the project for the conditioning of the Punta de Teno dock and jetty, in the municipality of Buenavista del Norte, for an amount of around 197,000 euros, with a completion period of nine months.

Potholes and ditches.
The objective of the works on roads is to guarantee the attention of specialized teams to improve the infrastructures and the fixing of potholes, profiling of ditches or margins. Cleaning of products or spills on the road and maintaining road markings in visible conditions, among other services, are also contemplated.

Natural environment.
In the Natural Environment, various projects were approved for an amount of around 4.1 million euros. Thus, the supply of materials for the signaling of infrastructures and equipment for public use for the next four years for 1.4 million euros was awarded. Likewise, the commission to the public company Gesplan was approved for the execution of the repopulation service and associated cultural care for a total amount that exceeds 1.5 million euros and a period of 41 months.

Primary sector.
In the Primary Sector and Animal Welfare, the Governing Council approved the contract to undertake the works for the project to improve and pave the La Cumbrita Rural Road, in the municipality of Guía de Isora. The work has a bidding budget of 644,414.97 euros and has a completion period of 10 months.

Cooperation and Housing.
In Municipal Cooperation and Housing, the contract was awarded for the execution of the renovation of the sewerage networks of Santa Cruz-valleseco, included in the Municipal Cooperation Plan. The works have a multi-year budget amounting to 2,350,000 euros and a term of 24 months. In the same way, the expansion of the budget for the conditioning of the municipal deposits and supply networks of the municipality of Fasnia was approved. Specifically, those of Pino del Agua, Fasnia, La Zarza and Las Eras. This modification aims to solve the consequences of the accumulation of salt precipitates on the surfaces in contact with water, as well as the reconstruction of the key room of the La Zarza deposit. The works have a budget of 60,506 euros and a period of three months.
The Governing Council also approved the contracting file for the works included in the project for the execution of a warehouse for the storage of vehicles and forest machinery for the extinction of fires forestry (Brifor) for approximately 641,000 euros. The works, once awarded, will have an execution period of eight months. Similarly, the public company Tragsa was commissioned to improve the roads and tracks of the Teno Rural Park for an amount of 513,000 euros. The purpose of the assignment is the execution of the improvement service of certain roads located in the area of the park, as well as the maintenance of those others identified as access and escape within the framework of the subprogram for the protection of nuclei against the risk of possible forest fires. and that are within the scope of work defined in this assignment
