León’s Roar Drowns Out Canary’s Song in a €2.4 Million Prize Showdown

With the first prize igniting the celebration in León – it was completely sold there – The Canary Islands had to wait a brief period to discover the extent to which the second and third prizes reached the Archipelago. The final outcomes of the remarkable El Niño draw in the Islands culminated at 2,475,000 euros, a figure that is double that achieved two years ago – 1.2 million – and which gazes wistfully at the 20 million brought by the Kings in 2024.

The excitement peaked in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (1,824,000 euros), with the heart of joy located on San Juan street in La Laguna. At the lottery administration on this street in the La Cuesta neighbourhood, ten tenths (one ticket) of 06776, which was the second prize, were sold.

La Atalaya, in the Gran Canaria town of Santa Brígida, was another location within the autonomous community where more than a tenth (two) of that same number was sold. Within this island, the second prize also made its way to El Pajar (Arguineguín, Mogán) and El Goro (Telde). Santa Cruz de La Palma also received that same fortune along with similar occurrences in Tenerife, particularly in Los Realejos and at the La Chasnera service station in Granadilla de Abona.

The Province

Lottery ticket sales at this vendor in the southern part of Tenerife have surged significantly over recent decades. The laws of probability leave no room for ambiguity; the more tenths sold at a single location, the higher the likelihood of securing a profit. In fact, the service station was the sole venue across the entire Canary Islands where the cava was uncorked for two reasons: the aforementioned tenth of the second prize was complemented by another from the third (66777).

The distribution of the third category extended across five of the islands. Only Fuerteventura and El Hierro were devoid of any of the tenths that can be exchanged for 25,000 euros. In Arrecife (Lanzarote), both the central area and the San Francisco Javier neighbourhood had reason to celebrate. The other source of joy was the southern Yaiza.

The Province

Breña Alta (La Palma) and Playa Santiago (Alajeró, La Gomera) joined thirteen municipalities from Tenerife in a toast of celebration in the western province for the arrival of third prizes: the previously mentioned Granadilla de Abona, the capital (two administrations), Santiago del Teide, San Cristóbal de La Laguna (seven administrations), Güímar, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava, Arona (two), Icod de Los Vinos (two), Los Realejos, Puerto de La Cruz, San Miguel de Abona and El Sauzal.

In Gran Canaria, numerous shopping centres received invitations to the bronze celebration; in the capital, those at La Ballena, Siete Palmas and Los Alisios; in Vecindario (Santa Lucía de Tirajana), within Mercacentro. Back in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the administration situated in the parking corridor on Rafael Cabrera Street prominently displayed an award sign. Here they sold two tenths of 66777. The Tirma administration on Triana Street concluded the list of third prizes distributed.

La Suerte del Cojo, located in Telde, also sold a tenth, as did an administration in the Galdense area of San Isidro and a hardware store known as La Palmita in Arucas (Juan XXIII).
