Canary Islands and Castilla La Mancha Unite to Enhance General Intervention Efforts

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 9th December (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government Council of the Canary Islands, upon the suggestion of the Minister of Finance and Relations with the European Union, Matilde Asián, has agreed this Monday to endorse the partnership agreement between the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands and Castilla-La Mancha to enhance and refine the oversight work of the General Intervention.

The Executive elaborates in a statement that the new authorities in management and the substantial volume of budget execution requiring oversight and certification, particularly concerning the administration of community funds, necessitate the availability of integrated technological tools that assist and streamline the control activities undertaken.

The agreement outlines, among other elements, the transfer of utilisation rights of available technologies, owned by both administrations, aimed at optimising the resources dedicated to the internal control of the public sector and reducing the administrative burden associated with this process.

Consequently, the Community Board of Castilla-La Mancha will provide the applications from its internal control system (SICON) for implementation within the General Intervention of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.

In this manner, the General Intervention of the CAC will be equipped with a contemporary tool that serves as a collaborative workspace, through which the intervention functions are centralised.

This agreement, which will be formalised by the presidents of both autonomous communities, will facilitate the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and experiences concerning internal control, with a notable emphasis on its technological dimensions.
