SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
National Police agents have arrested a 32-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of public disorder committed on November 25 in Plaza Weyler in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The events occurred at 7:00 p.m. when a hooded individual wearing military clothing suddenly crossed from Weyler Square to the General Headquarters, causing several vehicles to stop so as not to run over him.
As it could be captured by the security cameras, this person placed a bag that seemed to contain a suspicious device on the access stairway to the military building.
Initially, local police established a security perimeter and notified the specialized services of the National Police.
The Tedax of the National Police intervened in the place, ruling out, once the actions of their specialty had been carried out, that the bag contained an explosive device.
However, given the social alarm caused, the mobilization of emergency assistance resources and the disturbance caused in traffic and public transportation, an investigation began to identify the alleged perpetrator of the crime of public disorder committed.
Days later, the National Police investigators identified this person, a 32-year-old man who was arrested in the capital of Tenerife and placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
The actions were carried out by national police officers belonging to the Information Brigade of the Provincial Police Station of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
