SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 18 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Nearly thirty individuals have been found this Monday in the upper section of the Teide Cable Car – which is currently out of service – and 112 Canarias has deployed the helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) to oversee the rescue of three individuals exhibiting signs of hypothermia, as per information provided by 112 and the Tenerife Cabildo to Europa Press.

The rescued individuals will be transferred to the La Guancha helipad, where an ambulance from the SUC will transport them to a medical facility, while the others have begun to descend by their own means from the summit via Montaña Blanca, assisted by Cruz Roja and Firefighters.

The Cabildo highlights that the conditions in the upper region of Teide are extremely cold and somewhat icy, weather patterns that prevent the cable car from functioning. Since last Saturday, this rescue operation has seen about 130 people evacuated from the summit.
