SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The spokesman for the Government of the Canary Islands, Julio Pérez, confirmed this Thursday that his Executive has requested the Ministry of Health to unify the criteria for registering those who died from Covid-19 given the disparity in figures with other autonomous communities.
In the press conference after the Governing Council, he said that the Canary Islands make a “strict interpretation” of the protocols against other communities that it seems, the deceased who are infected with Covid-19 do not count, only if the death is as a result of the pathology.
Pérez has highlighted that there are autonomous communities with more incidence and fewer deaths, giving as an example that the Canary Islands have accumulated in the last week a total of 58 deaths for eight from Catalonia, 13 from Madrid or seven from the Balearic Islands.
