SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, and the mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, convened a meeting this Thursday to coordinate the advancement of the capital’s strategic initiatives.

This marks the second gathering held during this term, where both Dávila and Bermúdez have underscored the “excellent collaboration” that exists between their respective institutions, as indicated in a statement from the corporation.

The island president described the meeting as “very fruitful” due to the extensive topics discussed which are “crucial” for the development strategy and the execution of projects on the island of Tenerife.

“Santa Cruz is a vital component of the employment and economic activity generated in Tenerife, and its strategies regarding territory, culture, and island development are indispensable. We reviewed strategic projects, including the Insular Centre of Marine Sports (Cidemat), set to commence construction throughout 2025; key initiatives such as the ‘Puerto Ciudad’ project, which aims to connect the city with the sea, all intended to revitalise Tenerife, led by its capital,” noted Rosa Dávila.

In addition, José Manuel Bermúdez expressed gratitude towards the Council for its commitment to supporting pivotal projects for the development of the capital.

“We have reconvened with the purpose of evaluating our progress and, indeed, assessing the projects we have been pursuing in terms of road development, sports facilities, territorial planning, and several significant initiatives relating to the Puerto Ciudad project or Santa Cruz Verde 2030 which we will embark upon in the future. Undoubtedly, the interaction and processes between this Cabildo and the City Council have significantly improved compared to the previous administration, and we are starting to witness the benefits of this productive relationship between these two essential institutions for the island of Tenerife,” he remarked.
