SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 13th October (EUROPA PRESS) –

This month, the Parliament of the Canary Islands is showcasing the exhibition ‘Climate Change in Cartoons’, inviting visitors to explore the perspectives of global warming presented by cartoonists from major international newspapers. Among the featured artists are notable figures such as the Swiss caricaturist Patrick Chapatte and the American cartoonist David Horsey, displayed across 70 panels.

This initiative is a new endeavour from the ‘Tenerife International Comic and Luster Show’, which celebrates its 21st edition this year, aiming to promote graphic and audiovisual storytelling both within and beyond the archipelago, as well as highlighting Canarian talent in this field.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to the organisers of this project, spearheaded by Francisco Pomares, which has been curated by professors Váleri Codesido from the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid and Lucas Morales from the University of La Laguna, with assistance from the Moebius Cultural Chair for the Study and Promotion of Comics, also based at ULL,” remarked president Astrid Pérez during the inauguration held this week.

The exhibition will remain accessible to the public until 31st October, operating from Monday to Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., as well as from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Saturday mornings also available for visits.
