The Canarian Federation of Port Companies (Fedeport) met yesterday, unlike in previous years, those responsible for the port authorities of Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife in their traditional Christmas lunch at the Embarcadero of the capital’s sports pier, where they met appointment responsible for the main operators and port agencies of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
José Juan Ramos, re-elected president of Fedeport last October, thanked Luis Ibarra and Carlos González for their presence, as well as “the broad representation of port entrepreneurs in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.” “I am sure that the regional scope of the Federation will greatly benefit our sector,” said Ramos before expanding on the opportunities of offshore wind and its impact.
According to the president of Fedeport, given the times that come, with European aid, ports will need extensions and “the reorganization of port land” in terms of use and activities. Ramos believes that it is urgent to speed up works so that they are available for the start-up of offshore wind farms ”.
