The Meteorology Statal Agency has activated the Orange notice for today Friday in the east of La Palma, the entire island of La Gomera and the northern half of Tenerife, while the rest of the archipelago paints yellow, due to rain that could reach up to 30 liters per square meter in just one hour in the first case, and up to 40 liters per square meter in a twelve-hour period in the areas under the aforementioned yellow notice.

Already yesterday the pluviometric records marked some of the maximums of the Community precisely in the pretty island, but they did so in the eastern band, releasing large flows to the areas affected by the volcano’s ashes, in such a way that while the airport received more of 52 liters per square meter, in Tazacorte no rains were reported, although this situation may vary during the day today with a change in trend due to an east component wind, from light to moderate, which will roll in the afternoon to northeast and it can blow hard.

According to the prediction of the state agency, the skies will dawn covered during this day, with precipitations that can be “occasionally very strong on the north and east slopes of Tenerife, La Palma and La Gomera”, according to the forecast, and that They can even be in the form of snow from 2,200 to 2,400 meters high, with greater probability in Tenerife than in La Palma. Temperatures will experience a slight decrease in the western province.

Raise the warning for rains to orange level in the Canary Islands

Raise the warning for rains to orange level in the Canary Islands

For tomorrow, Saturday, the yellow warning remains for Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Graciosa and Fuerteventura only until five in the morning, due to rains that may be locally strong during those hours.

The cloudy intervals will be repeated, arriving more compact to generate weak to moderate rains on the northern slopes, as well as in the interior, and which can occur in the form of showers on the more mountainous islands. The temperatures will remain stable, or in a slight decrease, except in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura where the maximums could rise a little, a situation diametrically different from that of the peaks of Tenerife and even La Palma, where frosts are not ruled out during the early morning. . The wind will now come blowing from north to northeast with strong intervals, always according to the Aemet’s prediction.

Already for Sunday the instability continues but, in principle, without so much intensity.

They will be cloudy skies with weak to moderate rains in the interior and the northern half, with occasional showers, but with a lower possibility of precipitation in La Graciosa, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Temperatures will remain cool, but without ruling out a slight rise in the lows. The wind will continue from moderate to strong, with a predominance from the north to the northeast.
