SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15th April – EUROPA PRESS –

An exhibition of artworks by young artists known as ‘Merkarte’ is being showcased at the Goma of Modern Art Gallery in Adeje, organized by the Cabildo of Tenerife. The exhibition will be open to the public until the 13th of June, according to Youth Minister, Serafín Mesa. Mesa emphasized the Cabildo’s commitment to nurturing young artists and aiding them in establishing their careers.

“Merkarte provides young people with the necessary resources and assistance to pursue their artistic passions and carve a path in the art world. We aim to give the youth of Tenerife the opportunity to follow their passions and find happiness through their art, right here in our region,” stated the councillor.

The selection of artists for this exhibition was made from participants in the Merkarte Christmas art market, with the gallery’s curators also inviting notable artists to showcase their work.

Among the artists featured in the group exhibition are: Rima Ciplyte, Clara Pérez, Borja Pineda, Elvira Piedra, Alvaro Hogdson, Adrian Smokaz, Marie De La Rue, Freya Díaz Jaén, Grete Mus, Azahara Capella, Ana Amaia, Elia Estevez, Romen Acosta, and Gara Acosta.

Merkarte is an educational, artistic, and social initiative organized by the Employment, Education, and Youth sector of the Island Council of Tenerife. Its aim is to showcase, promote, and empower young creatives under the age of 35 in Tenerife, aiding in their professional development and integration into the job market.

The programme includes training sessions, exhibitions, and socio-economic support activities, demonstrating a commitment to the youth and local talent, in partnership with the tourism industry and other private entities.
