The Tenerife midlands will receive 2.9 million euros for firefighting. This is an agreement adopted this Wednesday by the Governing Council of the Tenerife Council. Specifically, the assignment to Gesplan of the “service of adaptation of the medians to the prevention of fires and the improvement of natural and agricultural biodiversity” was approved. The execution period is three years, as detailed by the island institution.
The above was one of the main decisions of a meeting in which the approval was also given to extend the free public transport on the Island “while it is expected to know in detail the conditions that the Council of Ministers has established.” which, in parallel, adopted the agreement this Wednesday. And an investment of about 20.7 million euros in Social Action went ahead.
27.6 million for gender violence. The Government Council approved the collaboration agreement with the Canary Islands Institute of Equality (ICI) for the consolidation and maintenance of the Canary Islands System of Comprehensive Prevention and Intervention against Gender Violence on the island of Tenerife. “The agreement implies an economic content of 27,598,859 euros for the period 2023-2026, of which the Cabildo contributes 15,891,822 euros, while the ICI contributes 11,698,036 euros,” the Cabildo stated.
Dependency agreement. An item of 3.6 million euros was also approved corresponding to the Fifth Addendum of modification and extension of the cooperation agreement between the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands “for the provision of services to people in a situation of dependency and, in general, to people under six years of age, older people or people with disabilities, and to carry out actions in relation to the procedure for recognition of the situation of dependency and the right to benefits.
Barranco Hondo social and health center. Another of the agreements adopted in the Government Council this Wednesday was that of an item of 631,671 euros to update the investment destined for the construction of the Barranco Hondo Social and Health Center (Candelaria), whose total amount amounts to 5.6 million euros . There will also be 645,000 euros to continue the Citizen Participation Office developed by the Insular Society for the Promotion of People with Disabilities (Sinpromi).
Vehicle recharging. The company Gestión y Planning Territorial y Medioambiental SA (Gesplan) received a second order, apart from action in firefighting matters: the preparation of the project and execution of the Sustainable Tourist Mobility Network through the installation of 30 charging points for electric vehicles included in the Tourism Sustainability Plan of the Cabildo de Tenerife, called Tenerife Reset, for an amount of 2,183,300 euros, according to the details provided this Wednesday in the press release sent by the island institution after the Government Council.
Energy communities. Gesplan will also execute the Development service of the Community Transformation Office for an amount of 913,208 euros. «The objective is to develop a specific technical support service for the municipalities and the Cabildo itself that serves as support and accompaniment for the presentation of applications for financial aid and subsidies that are called, especially those related to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan» , reported from the insular institution.
Horizontal signage. Within the Roads area, the tender for the contract to improve the horizontal signaling of the Tenerife road network was approved. This action has an amount of 1,038,156 euros and an execution period of eleven months.
Sanitation in Los Silos. The island Government Council awarded the works of the project to expand and improve sanitation in the municipality of Los Silos to the company Asfaltos y Obras Tafuriaste. The amount for this action is 1,218,710 euros.
