The City Council of La Laguna, through the Department of Animal Welfare, will celebrate tomorrow and Sunday the fifth edition of the Adoption Fair, which once again will take place in the central Plaza de la Concepción. The program for these days will include food collections, participatory workshops for the whole family, spaces for the protectors and informative talks.
The mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, called on the citizens of the municipality “to participate in this action that promotes love and care for our pets, as another member of the family, but always taking into account the commitment we make.” when we carry out an adoption.”
For his part, the councilor responsible for Animal Welfare, Ángel Chinea, stressed that this fair serves as a platform to publicize the work of the shelters and organizations that are dedicated to animal care and allows the population to collaborate to this end by providing food. , financial donations, blankets, towels, medications or any other material needed.
Thus, both tomorrow and Sunday the fair will host, between 11:00 and 20:00, information tents of the entities, food collection points, family workshops and parades with the motto En Adoption.
Likewise, tomorrow, starting at 5:00 p.m., different talks will be offered, such as, for example, How does a shelter work?, by Valle Colino; Meet Petrichor, run by the founder of this animal sanctuary; Responsible Adoption, with Wow Dogtrainer Fenya, and Equine Wellbeing, from Equino Sentido.
This format of talks will be repeated on Sunday, but starting at 12:30 p.m. The first will be given by Francisca Gutiérrez, a lawyer specialized in Animal Law, who will talk about the new Animal Welfare Law and its key points to take into account. She will take over the baton from the Tenerife Exotics medicine service and her presentation on Responsible ownership of exotic animals and will close this turn In Situ Canarias and her presentation Adopt, we are life partners.
In this edition, entities such as Brigada Animalista, Sueño Gatuno, Valle Colino, Equino Sentido, SOS Felina, SOS Peludos, Canarionejos, Carlinos Canarias, Labradopta, El Club de la Huella, Menudos Peludos, El Valle Encantado or In Situ Canarias, among others, will participate. .
