LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA, 26 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Since Saturday afternoon, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Las Palmas has coordinated the rescue of 230 migrants who were on board five boats, as sources from the public organization have informed Europa Press.

While waiting for the final count, the ‘Al Nair’ rescue boat rescued two boats, one with 45 Maghreb men and another with 54 migrants of sub-Saharan origin (48 men, 3 women and 3 children).

For its part, the ‘Concepción Arenal’ sea guard rescued three other boats, one with 46 migrants of sub-Saharan origin (43 men and 3 women); another with 47 sub-Saharans and North Africans (42 men, 3 women and 2 children); and a third with 41 North African people (39 men and 2 women) north of Órzola.

A few minutes ago, the sea guard Concepción Arenal rescued 41 people, North Africans (39V and 2M) north of Órzola. She will arrive in Arrecife around 11:45 to disembark the people rescued from this last boat and the previous one still on board..

The occupants of three of the boats were disembarked in the port of Arrecife, where they were assisted by health personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service and volunteers from the Red Cross. The ‘Concepción Arenal’ will arrive in Arrecife around 11:45 to disembark the people rescued from the other two boats.
