The Vice President and Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Lope Afonso, has pointed out that the work of the Tenerife Film Commission to attract top-level audiovisual productions to the Island “reaches a new milestone with the filming, for almost a month, of a high-impact series at a European level like ‘Forever Summer’, which will show our destination to millions of viewers and potential visitors during its broadcast”.

Lope Afonso also highlighted that the recording of the series “confirms the good moment that Tenerife is going through in terms of audiovisual production this year, even overcoming the global difficulties that have affected the sector, and contributes to strengthening the local business fabric and the creation of jobs around production”.

The CEO of Tenerife Tourism, Dimple Melwani, added that the Island “has established itself, for years, as a reference destination for audiovisual productions thanks to a solid ecosystem of local service companies that have the latest audiovisual equipment.” generation and qualified professionals, as well as transport companies, catering companies, etc., as well as factors such as the excellent temperature that we enjoy 365 days a year or a unique variety of landscapes.

Melwani specified that to all this we must add “the support in aspects such as the search for locations, advice or help in the management of recording permits carried out by the Tenerife Film Commission, the Tenerife Tourism department in charge of promoting the film.” island as a destination for all kinds of audiovisual productions”.

The CEO of Tenerife Tourism recalled that the Island hosted a total of 122 filmings last year, which generated more than 9,600 jobs (12 percent more than in 2021) and an expense in the destination of 101 million euros.

In this shoot, Bavaria Fiction is using the services of local production company Seven Island Films, as well as Canary Pictures Vehicles as a scene vehicle services and production support company. In terms of personnel, it has hired 70 local professionals, as well as 300 extras.

Among the locations chosen by the production company are places like El Médano, and in general, Granadilla de Abona; facilities of the University of La Laguna; or the Port of Los Cristianos, for which the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife or the Association of the Elderly of that town in the south of the Island have collaborated.
