Investigators from the National Police assigned to the Drugs and Organized Crime Unit (Udyco) of Santa Cruz de Tenerife They found a new and important shipment of narcotics. Specifically, these professionals from the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade seized approximately 2,300 kilos of cocaine in a boat that was intercepted while sailing on the high seas, in the middle of the Atlantic. The agents detained the nine crew members of the ship, who are of different nationalities, who, after being handed over to the Investigative Court of Guard of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, They were placed in provisional prison, communicated and without bail pending the trial. After just three weeks ago, the aforementioned group of the National Police seized more than a ton of cocaine inside a house in the center of Barranco Hondo (Candelaria) thanks to its own investigation that began and ended in Tenerife, now said team once again develops an international collaborative effort that ends with the seizure of a very large amount of cocaine.

And on board the aforementioned Tax Agency vessel were members of the Special Operations Group (GEO), who were in charge of boarding the tugboat and surprising and arresting the crew members.

After being intercepted, the Sea Paradise fIt was driven to the Los Llanos dam, in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where he arrived last weekend. Once the pertinent judicial authorization was available, Udyco investigators accessed the ship and managed to locate the narcotic substance. The 2,300 kilos of cocaine were located inside a warehouse of the aforementioned tugboat that was seized. According to one of the sources consulted, the boat with the drug shipment left a port in the Dominican Republic on an undetermined date.

The discharge of the narcotic, its weighing and the instruction of the proceedings for this operation It lasted until last Monday.

A little over ten months ago, an operation carried out by the Udyco of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Organized Crime Team (ECO) of the Civil Guard and Customs Surveillance allowed to intervene 4,500 kilos of cocaine aboard the cargo ship Blume, which was flying the flag of Togo, and was captured 80 miles east of the Archipelago, very close to the African coast, between Laayoune and Cape Bojador.
