SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Popular Party of the Canary Islands has shown its conviction that the PSOE “will use” the Canary Coalition with the sole objective of securing the necessary support for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez, who “has more than demonstrated during the last five years since the Presidency of the “Government of Spain that only knows how to lie. Sooner or later it will sell out to the Canarian nationalists, as it has done to the whole world.”
The Canarian PP maintains in a statement issued after the agreement between the PSOE and CC that Sánchez “has shown conclusively that the Canary Islands does not appear on the Government’s priority agenda and prefers to please its new partners by sowing uncertainty and insecurity, agreeing with fugitives of Justice, destroying the foundations of democracy and promoting inequality among Spaniards”.
The Popular Party affirms that in “the DNA of the current Socialist Party there is a very worrying allergy towards everything that has to do with the Canary Islands” and warns that “the indifference and abandonment that the Archipelago has suffered under the Sánchez Government is not to change with the support for the investiture offered by CC”. “If having a socialist Executive in the Islands, chaired by Ángel Víctor Torres, they were not able to face the serious problems that our Community was going through, now that they are outside the autonomous Government, the apathy and contempt will increase,” say the popular.
According to the party led by Manuel Dominguez in the islands, “Sánchez has no credibility whatsoever and will not respond to the interests of the Canary Islands, benefiting his independence partners at all costs, leaving the issues he raises in the drawer of oblivion, in all likelihood. “the Canarian Agenda. Even if it signs in indelible ink the demands of the nationalists in the Archipelago, it will not comply; its objective is none other than to remain in the seat of La Moncloa.”
The popular ones also warn that CC “will be a cardboard guest at the feast organized by the leader of the socialists, breaking all democratic rules and putting the present and future of the Canary Islands and the majority of the people at stake.” “Faced with Sánchez’s record with the Canary Islands, there are no great expectations, there is no innocence.”
The PP of the Canary Islands does not share or understand the agreement announced today by the PSOE and CC to allow the investiture of Sánchez, and considers that it is up to the nationalist formation “to explain to its members, voters and citizens in general the reasons for signing said agreement and the benefits that the Islands could obtain through it, even knowing the reliability that the socialist candidate for the Presidency of the Government deserves; none.”
THE PACT “IS NOT AT RISK”
Despite the agreement between the Canarian Coalition and the Socialist Party to support the investiture of Pedro Sánchez, the PP has made it clear that the pact with the nationalists “is not at risk.” “The objective set last June between PP and CC remains the same: to improve the lives of the Canary Islands and contribute to the development of the Archipelago by generating opportunities in all areas, especially at a social and work level,” they point out.
The Popular Party emphasizes that, from the beginning, “the pact between popular and nationalists was born with that purpose and not to ensure the interests of both political formations.” “The Canary Islands need a serious and responsible project that guarantees the present and future of this land and those who live in it, a horizon that is still in force, that remains latent within the pact for the governance of the Archipelago.”
“Running the good harmony that exists between the partners of the current Government of the Canary Islands would mean paving the way for Sánchez to be able to carry out his nonsense with the Islands with total impunity as he has done in recent years, something that the Popular Party is not willing to do.” to allow,” the statement concludes.
