SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo of Tenerife work together to design employment projects that allow the environmental restoration of the areas affected by the forest fire last summer.

This was pointed out to journalists by the Minister of Ecological Transition of the Government of the Canary Islands, Mariano Hernández, and the president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, at the end of a work meeting in which the foundations for the recovery of the mountains with budget items already committed for 2023 and 2024.

Zapata has highlighted that his Ministry has already carried out “different budgetary applications” to provide resources for the recovery work of natural areas and they have also acted as a “link” with the central Government, emphasizing that they always work “of the hand” of the Cabildo.

Dávila has guaranteed that there will be “concrete” economic allocations and joint actions between both administrations to face the consequences of the “very serious fire” that the island has experienced and that include, for example, soil stabilization work, forestry reforestation or ravine cleaning.
