The Public Services area of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, headed by Carlos Tarife, will begin this Sunday, October 8, to pave a section of Francisco La Roche Avenue, from the Provincial Coastal Service building to the intersection with the José Zárate and Penichet streets. A road resurfacing work that will be carried out at night, from 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and which is scheduled to conclude, if there are no unforeseen events, during the night of Tuesday, October 10.
The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, indicates that “the City Council continues to work on improving the city’s pavements through a paving plan that is the most important in recent decades” and points out that these works, which include the five districts, “will improve circulation and the safety of drivers, which is our priority and what we ensure every day.”
The Councilor for Public Services, Carlos Tarife, values the work being done to improve the city’s roads with materials that “manage to reduce the carbon footprint and the noise pollution of vehicles when they circulate on the pavement” and remember that last July, the section of this avenue that goes from the Provincial Coastal Service building to the access to República de Honduras Street was already paved” .
The work will consist of the surface rehabilitation of the asphalt surface and the replacement of the 6 cm thick running layer with AC 16 SURF (D-12) asphalt mixture, with NFU modified bitumen (out of use tires). Furthermore, the number of tons of asphalt needed is approximately 675.
Traffic detours
On the night of Sunday, October 8, the two lanes in the Anaga direction will be executed. To do this, traffic will be completely cut off at Rambla Santa Cruz, to continue along Carlos JR Hamilton Street towards Gáldar Street, and return traffic again to Francisco La Roche Avenue through José Zárate and Penichet Streets. In addition, Rambla Santa Cruz will also be cut, going downhill, diverting traffic through JR Hamilton Street and following the same route as in the previous point.
In the Plaza de España direction, the left lane will be cut, diverting traffic to the right lane in the same direction. In addition, traffic will be cut off on Elías Ramos González Street, at the intersection with Carlos JR Hamilton Street.
On the night of Monday, October 9, the left lane and the central islands will be executed towards Plaza de España. In the San Andrés direction, the left lane will be cut, diverting traffic to the right lane in the same direction. While in the Plaza de España direction, the left lane will be cut, diverting traffic to the right lane.
On the night of October 10, the right lane and shoulder will be executed in the direction of Plaza de España. In the San Andrés direction, the left lane will be cut, diverting traffic to the right lane in the same direction. In the direction of Plaza de España, the right and left lanes will be cut, diverting traffic to the left lane in the direction of San Andrés.
Parking lots
Parking will be prohibited in all parking spaces that are within the section under construction, from 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, until the completion of the work.
