The Socialist Municipal Group in the La Orotava City Council presented in the last plenary session a motion for the installation in the northern municipality of service areas for motorhomes and similar vehicles, in order to improve their conditions of use and promote better regulation.
The motion was made up of four points: area of water collection and discharge services, establishment of parking adapted to this type of vehicles, creation of a regulatory ordinance and urging the Tenerife Council to develop and execute the Tenerife Motorhome Island Plan. .
However, and to the surprise of the PSOE, the Canarian Coalition government team rejected the motion with the argument that work is already being done on establishing parking spaces. A proposal that has nothing to do with the one proposed by the Socialist Party and that also has the support of other political groups.
“We do not understand – says councilor Virginia Ramos – how a municipality that has an annual meeting of campers and users of these vehicles in general does not have the requests that the users themselves have sent us and that we have conveyed with this motion covered. ”.
The PSOE highlights that the four points that made up the motion are the product of requests submitted by Associations and campers on the Island of Tenerife, after meetings and contacts over the last few months.
“With the rejection of the motion, issues such as the creation and subsequent approval of a regulatory ordinance, the possible service areas for the collection and discharge of water, as well as promoting from our City Council the development and execution of the Tenerife Motorhome Island Plan They are left unattended.”
