He San Jerónimo neighborhood, in Tacoronte, has a renovated square. The mayor of Tacoronte, Sandra Izquierdo, inaugurated the space after the completion of the cleaning work that has been carried out in the place in the last eight months. The project has made it possible to replace the old pavement of the pedestrian area with a safer surface that is integrated into the aesthetics of the environment, as well as to carry out improvements in the section of road parallel to the square.
With a total investment of 497,585 euros, paid for entirely with the City Council’s own resources, they have also built security walls around the perimeter, new garden spaces, with an autonomous irrigation system, a children’s area equipped with leisure furniture and a small sports court.
The list of improvements includes a modern public lighting systemplus benches and litter bins distributed over a total area of 1,806 square meters.
The performance has taken place outside the hermitage of San Jerónimonext to the ravine in the area, a temple integrated into the Catalog of Elements of Heritage Interest of Tacoronte, with a level of Monumental Protection, according to the press release from the City Council.
