SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 25 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Members of the Consortium of Firefighters of Tenerife and the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of the Canary Islands have rescued an injured fisherman after suffering a fall on a rocky area on the coast of Abades, in the municipality of Arico ( Tenerife), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of 112 of the Canary Islands.
The events occurred on Monday afternoon in the aforementioned place and the firefighters who gave the first attention to the 72-year-old fisherman moved to the area and transferred him to a safe area.
They then asked 112 for the intervention of an air resource to evacuate him, it was then that the rescuers from the GES helicopter and the firefighters proceeded to rescue the fisherman who was evacuated in the aircraft to the Tenerife North airport.
Once on land, the personnel of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) verified that the injured man had different injuries of a moderate nature, except for complications, for which he was transferred by medicalized ambulance from the SUC to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital.
Local Police officers and Civil Protection officers also appeared at the scene of the incident, who intervened in the device deployed in the area.
