Twenty evicted, some reactivation and landslides in the north of the Island

The Tenerife fire remains at Level 1 and under the management of the Cabildo. On its 14th day, 20 people were evicted (since the day before yesterday) from the Mirador de La Atalaya, in Santa Úrsula, the reactivation of the fire was registered within the perimeter – in Ravelo (Tacoronte), La Resbala and Pinolere (La Orotava) – and it returned to break the Aguamansa Canal, repaired and with the service restored from early afternoon.

An operation of an operation of 135 people on the ground and four helicopters –two from the Cabildo and two from the State–, together with the coordination and logistics personnel, it continued working on the emergency, focusing the work on La Matanza, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava and Güímar. His main objective is to consolidate the perimeter and quell any revival.

During the early hours of Monday to Tuesday, the Aguamansa Canal ruptured, which supplies the municipalities from Los Realejos to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The channel’s staff, accompanied by members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium and the supervision of the Insular Water Council, completed the repair and was operational at noon yesterday.

Regarding the 20 people who are evicted as a preventive measure and to facilitate the extinction work, the emergency department will evaluate today the possibility of their returning to their homes. In addition, air quality continues to be monitored, which had high particle values ​​in the upper area of ​​La Orotava during the night, although they dissipated with the arrival of daylight.

Prohibition

In the municipalities of Güímar, Arafo, Fasnia, Candelaria, El Rosario, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava and Los Realejos, the prohibition of making fire in recreational areas and to travel along the tracks and forest trails, as well as stay in the mountains and make fire outdoors (bonfires, stoves, barbecues, gas stoves); pyrotechnic displays and the use of machinery and tools that cause sparks. Nor can you drive on forest tracks for recreational purposes.

Hunting is prohibited in the municipalities affected by the fire, except in Güímar and Fasnia.

Access

The access roads to the Teide National Park via La Esperanza (TF-24) and La Orotava (TF-21) remain closed, as well as the TF-523 (Climb to Los Loros). The accesses through Vilaflor (TF-21) and Chío (TF-38) are open, but only up to the Cable Car.

Endesa

The Redes de Endesa subsidiary, e-distribución, has replaced some thirty poles and three kilometers of low-voltage braided cable that suffered irreparable damage as a result of the fire in Tenerife, the company reported in a statement. Ravelo, in El Sauzal, and Aguamansa, in the municipality of La Orotava, are the towns that have most required the renewal of poles and cables.

Education

Mobilizing educational responses to the fire in Tenerife is the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands to design the protocol for action and accompaniment for students in the areas affected by the fire. Through this project, it is intended to give, before the imminent start of the course, a coordinated and organized response to the affected educational communities, activating strategies and preventive measures focused on their needs.
