20 people continue to be evicted by the fire in Tenerife

The forest fire of Tenerife remains stabilized and in the control phase of the ‘hot spots’ that are reactivated continuously within the perimeter of about 90 kilometers with almost 15,000 hectares burned which covers twelve municipalities from Fasnia to Los Realejos.

The Cabildo has also updated the situation of the Insular Territorial Emergency Plan (PEIN) and has established that in the municipalities of Güímar, Arafo, Fasnia, Candelaria, El Rosario, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava and Los Realejos, measures of grade 3, which implies the prohibition of making fires in recreational areas and of traveling along tracks and forest paths.

As of this Tuesday, hunting activity, forest exploitation and the movement of motor vehicles on the network of forest tracks for recreational purposes are allowed. In the same way, you can travel along the tracks and forest trails and use the recreational areas, camping areas and camps (without using stoves or gas), as well as sporting events and pilgrimages on tracks and forest trails and cross country.

In any case, the Cabildo urges the population to take extreme precautions throughout the island territory with any activity that can generate fires such as tobacco, use of generators or electrical and pyrotechnic material.

Access to Teide closed

The access roads to Teide National Park via La Esperanza (TF-24) and La Orotava (TF-21) remain closedas well as the TF-523 (Subida a Los Loros) while the accesses to Teide via Vilaflor (TF-21) and Chío (TF-38) are open, but only up to the Cable Car.

As for public transport, the only Titsa line that continues to be suspended is Line 348 Puerto de la Cruz-Orotava-Parque Nacional del Teide. For its part, Lines 345 and 346 Puerto de la Cruz-Orotava-Aguamansa will only reach the Velo, while Line 342 Costa Adeje-Cristianos-Vilaflor-Parque Nacional del Teide will only reach the Cable Car.

In the case of the Teide National Park the following trails are completely closed: Trail no. 1 La Fortaleza, Trail no. 2 Arenas Negras, Trail no. 8 El Filo, Trail no. 14 Alto de Guamaso, Trail no. 17 Igueque, Trail no. 20 Fasnia Volcano, Trail no. 21 Corral del Niño to La Yegua Blanca, Trail nº 25 Burned Receipt, Trail nº 29 Degollada del Cedro, Trail nº 34 Montaña Limón, Trail nº 36 Alto de La Fortaleza and Trail nº 37 Cerrillar-Carnicería.

For its part, the Siete Cañadas Trail no. partially closed from the beginning in contact with path nº1 La Fortaleza until its contact with path nº33 (Montaña Negra).
