The high temperatures They threatened to ruin one of the most anticipated celebrations by the guancheros, the Bajada de Las Hayas. The fans became more necessary than ever for the almost 2,000 people who gathered last Saturday for the 23rd edition of this already traditional pilgrimage. The El Farrobo neighborhood was the starting point for the procession, which, precisely because of the heat, delayed its start to seven thirty in the evening. By that time, the temperatures had already begun to drop and some low clouds allowed some cool air to flow.
As tradition dictates, the nine candidates for queen of the Harvest Festival led the tour carrying the banner of the Virgen de La Esperanza, together with the municipal authorities.
The hundreds of participants returned to give the maximum splendor to the event with the color of traditional costumes, through the streets of El Farrobo, Los Hornos, La Palmita, Doctor Fleming, La Asomada, El Vínculo, La Alhóndiga, Pedro González Yanes and El Sol street.
