The Cabildo de Tenerife and the DGT seek options to improve mobility on the Island

The Mobility Counselor of the Council of TenerifeEulalia García, and the Minister of Highways, Dámaso Arteaga, have met with the Provincial Traffic Chief of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Pablo González de la Aleja, with the aim of analyze and address the situation of the mobility on the island.

During the meeting, various measures and strategies were discussed with the purpose of implementing solutions that contribute to the improvement of mobility in the region.

One of the main aspects discussed at the meeting was the Padre Anchieta roundabout in order to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of closing some of the accesses to the TF-5 to optimize traffic flow. Different options have been considered and the possible impacts that these measures could have on improving circulation in the area have been analysed.

The feasibility of a service for damaged vehicles was explored

In another appointment, the Minister of Mobility met with the president of the Canary Islands Association of Roadside Assistance Companies (Aceac), José Luis Tacoronte, to explore the feasibility of establishing a service that allows accident-damaged vehicles to be moved quickly and efficiently. to the nearest service area.

The objective would be to facilitate subsequent collection by the assistance service contracted by the owners of the affected vehicles. Different options have been evaluated and possible strategies have been discussed to optimize this process and provide a better service to users.

Eulalia García highlighted the “remarkable willingness” shown by both the DGT and the (Aceac) to implement measures that help alleviate and solve the traffic problems in Tenerife. In addition, she emphasized the importance of establishing a close and coordinated collaboration between all parties to achieve significant progress.

In this sense, Dámaso Arteaga emphasized that the Highways area is currently studying the technical solutions of the works with the aim of improving traffic on the main roads of the Island. He also stressed that an active dialogue has begun with various entities and groups to gather their proposals and suggestions.
