The Deputy Minister and the Head of Service deny receiving orders from Taishet and ‘Tito Berni’

He Deputy Minister of the Primary Sector in functions of Government of the Canary Islands, Alvaro de la Barcena Arganyand the head of service from the Department, Stephanie Gonzalez Nunez, they denied on the morning of this Thursday, July 13, that the ex-director general of Livestock Taishet Sources them give some order or directive about how they had to process the disciplinary file against the rancher alberto montesdeocaafter failing to adequately justify a subsidy from the European Union.

In addition, the aforementioned public office and the official pointed out that Taishet’s predecessor in office, her uncle Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbeloformer deputy of PSOE until mid-February last nor did he send them any action to favor said process.

That’s how they assured it in their statement as investigated assuming Mediator Case before the owner of the Court of Instruction number 4 of Santa Cruz de TenerifeMaría de los Ángeles by Lorenzo Cáceres Farizo, and the Delegate Prosecutor against Corruption and Organized CrimeJaime Serrano-Jover, at the Palace of Justice in the capital of Tenerife.

Álvaro de la Bárcena and Estefanía González Núñez explained that the processing of said procedure was adjusted to the law and that there was no favorable treatment towards the aforementioned businessman, owner of the Biogranja Montesdeoca, located in the municipality of Adeje.

The Deputy Minister of the Primary Sector and the Head of Service of said department suggested that Taishet’s actions were correct in this matter.

Prescription of the sanction to Quesería Montesdeoca

Another of the issues that La Bárcena and the Head of Service reflected is that supposedly the Superior Court of Justice of Canary Islands (TSJC) determined that the period for the prescription of disciplinary process against the owner of the Biogranja and Montesdeoca Cheese Factory It was not the one set by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, which set the re-entry of the money from the European Union as the start of the file, but rather it had to start when the beneficiary received the financial aid.

From this perspective, according to the newly investigated, it was irrelevant that the disciplinary file went from serious to minor or that it prescribed.

About Taishet Fuentes, De la Bárcena and González Núñez stated that one of their functions was to have direct contact with farmers to find out what situation this subsector was in. And that, furthermore, at the time the Montesdeoca case file was processed, there were livestock companies and cheese factories that were in a serious economic situation, as a result of the economic crisis generated by the pandemic.

According to some sources, after the statements made by the investigated Álvaro de la Bárcena and Estefanía González, the Mediator Case “deflates” in the branch whose investigation continues in the Investigating Court number 4 of Tenerife.

The taxi driver, one more victim of the mediator

One of the people summoned to testify by the judge was a taxi driver from Candelaria, Celedonio C., who is allegedly accused of receiving and delivering money to Marco Antonio Navarro Tacoronte, the mediator which gives its name to this matter of alleged corruption, collection of money, contracting prostitution services or cocaine use in exchange for favoring businessmen from various economic sectors.

In his statement, said taxi driver assured that, in reality, he is one more victim of Navarro Tacoronte, since he lent him money, which he never returned and presumably paid for services with his credit card. According to the data that have come out, the alleged funder asked him for a significant amount of money, with the excuse that he would return it, since he had an economic position and influence that would allow him to do so. However, time passed and that return did not come true. At those times, he made small payments of money to her as a form of deception.
