No one remembers the last time the eSantos ravine escalators, both those that are at the height of the Galcerán bridge and those that are on Asuncionistas avenue (in front of Viera and Clavijo), were in operation. He Santa Cruz City Hall He has been promising its repair and start-up for years, something that finally happened this morning. Technicians from the Public Services area, directed by Carlos Tarife, started the escalators and left them running.

As Tarife admitted, “at Servicios Públicos we are very happy because it is something we had committed to and we have finally achieved it.”

The total cost of the repair amounts to 30,000 euros, and from Public Services the citizens are asked to make a reasonable use of them so that what happened the last time they were tried to start up does not happen again.

This start-up of the escalators is done with a new remote management system, in such a way that if they stop, the technicians will be able to send the personnel who are on duty to start them up again. In addition, security cameras will be installed to ensure that they do not suffer new acts of vandalism and, in the event that there are, to identify the culprits.
