The La Laguna City Council has proceeded to suspend the tender for the cleaning service of public infant and primary schools and municipal offices, which it put out to tender in the middle of last month with a base budget that rose to 16,163,310 euros and a term of three years, and whose specifications were challenged by the UGT at the end of that same November.
Now, as stated in a recent document published in the Contractor’s Profile, “considering that the necessary administrative actions have not yet been finalized in view of the consultations and the appeal filed against the specifications, it is communicated that the tender is suspended until as long as these actions are completed.”
The new contract represented an increase of seven million compared to the previous one, from 2018, and, according to data from the Municipal Services area, it provided for a 4% increase in salary next year, and 2% in salary. each of the following two years.
Complaints
However, from the UGT union they denounced that these increases were included in the specifications when nothing had been negotiated with the current works council. “The agreement ends on December 31 and we will have to sit down, because we have not agreed on anything,” Marco Antonio Hernández, president of the works council and general secretary of Fesmc-UGT Tenerife, recently criticized. In addition, “we have been saying for four years that we must increase the staff and ignore it, we continue with the same number since 2012, and they double the budget without increasing the staff. We have the same workers from the last sheet, ”he added.
