Firefighters of the park located in La Orotava, in the north of Tenerife, and the Forestry Brigade of the Cabildo de Tenerife are acting in a forest fire declared this Saturday in some farms located in the Pinolere neighborhood, near the fairgrounds and in an area populated. In fact, 15 homes were evacuated during the afternoon due to the proximity of the flames. However, minutes before 8:00 p.m., the Cabildo de Tenerife reported that the favorable evolution of the fire and the coordinated action of the air and ground means had allowed these people to return to their homes, although pending the messages of the authorities since the fire is not controlled.
The ground troops continue to intervene in the place, although the air means have withdrawn with the arrival of night. The Cabildo de Tenerife has requested means of reinforcement from other islands.
The President of the Government of the Canary Islands has reported that the fire has gone from being an outbreak to being a level 1 forest fire while the Cabildo indicated in the middle of the afternoon that there is a second source, but that it has lost intensity thanks to the work of the aerial means.
A second source detected has decreased in intensity due to the action of aerial means.
At the moment, a fortnight of houses have been evacuated. Preventive activation resources are @CruzRojaProvTfe.– Cabildo de Tenerife (@CabildoTenerife) September 11, 2021
