HiperDino expands its platform by more than 15,000 square meters

HiperDino, the leading chain in the food sector and the only 100% Canarian regional chain, will expand its logistics center located in the Valle de Güímar Industrial Park by more than 15,000 square metres. An amount of more than 16 million euros has been allocated to carry out this work.

The works, which began during the month of April 2021 with the demolition of the buildings surrounding the platform, are now in the execution phase of the floors, as well as the development of the foundations and screeds. In addition, the opening of the foundation pits that are necessary due to the characteristics of the terrain is about to be completed. HiperDino expects the works to be completed by mid-2023.

HiperDino’s logistics platform will have 34,000 square meters once the construction of the new building is completed, whose 15,000 square meters will be added to the 19,000 square meters of the center in use in Manzana XII of the Valle de Güímar Industrial Estate. This expansion will be distributed over two floors. In addition, other areas will be intervened with the aim of gaining surface in the dry area, according to the company.

The chain announces that it is studying locating a photovoltaic installation on the roof of the new premises with the aim of favoring energy self-sufficiency.

The company

HiperDino is the leading chain in the food sector in the Archipelago and the only 100% Canarian regional chain, it says in a statement. Currently, it has 230 stores distributed throughout the Islands, through which it works more than 13,000 references, of which 40% correspond to purchases from local suppliers.

HiperDino’s leadership is also reflected in employment. The company ensures that it has more than 8,000 workers throughout the Canary Islands.

Present in five of the eight islands, it also reaches the market of seven of them through the online store hiperdino.es. This channel, created in 2015, has all the products from its physical stores and, among the advantages it brings, the customer receives the purchase the day after it has been made. Likewise, it has two exclusive preparation centers to deal with registered sales via the Internet and has 34 DinoShop stores under a franchise system.

Through the DinoSol Foundation, it collaborates in solidarity with various actions supporting the social and cultural development of the Canary Islands, and pays special attention to the people who are part of HiperDino, he points out.
