SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Governing Council of the Canary Islands, at its meeting held this Thursday in Tenerife, authorized the extension for one year of the comprehensive public service contract for emergency care, civil protection and surveillance using multifunctional helicopters and their endowments, amounting to 6,479,708 , 52 euros.

The Canarian Executive considers this service essential for the execution of rescue and salvage powers in the Canary Islands.

The validity of the current contract, signed in 2015, ends on October 31, 2021, so it has been agreed to extend it for one year while the tender for a new contract is being processed, which is in the process of being published and by its own nature will involve a particularly laborious adjudication, contracting and implementation process.

The financing of the expense will be carried out in two annuities: 1,079. 951.42 euros in this year and 5,399,757.10 euros in 2022.

The one corresponding to 2021 covers two months, from October 31 to December 31 and contemplates 166.67 flight hours, while the financing of the extension for 2022 will last ten months and includes 833.33 flight hours. In total, set a year of availability and 1,000 flight hours.
