The Autonomous Body of Museums and Centers of the Cabildo organizes an extensive program for International Museum Day, which is celebrated this Wednesday. The Minister of Museums, Concepción Rivero, highlights that she “invites the population to participate in conferences or children’s workshops.”

The Museum of Nature and Archeology (MUNA) presents a children’s workshop, two conferences and a scientific café. The Chipeque children’s workshop, the Guanche boy and his goat, will be held in the mornings from today to May 20, where a scene from the story is freely represented.

MUNA hosts today the conference From Hospital to Museum, with the director of the center, Fátima Hernández Martín, and the director of the Archaeological Museum and the ICB, Conrado Rodríguez Martín, who will discuss the history of the building. The conference NRBC War in the 21st Century? Biological warfare will be held on Wednesday, May 18, at 5:00 p.m.; and the Scientific Café: The before, during and after the eruption of La Palma 2021, same day, at 6:00 p.m.

The Museum of Science and the Cosmos offers the conference Supermassive Black Holes tomorrow, May 17, at 6:00 p.m. To this will be added the talk The challenge of the Gran Telescopio Canarias, which will take place on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. The center will host the Canary Islands Scientific Communication Meeting (CoCiCan) on May 20 at 3:00 p.m. He will also dedicate a family workshop on May 20 and 21 with the title of El Ovonauta and will carry out solar observations on the terrace with the schools that attend.

The Museum of History and Anthropology, in the Casa Lercaro, presents a temporary and ephemeral exhibition, Emotions adrift, which can be visited from May 18. It collects the visions and experiences that the migrants themselves have of the migratory flows. It aims to offer a different approach and participated from various facets of migration. The Documentation Center of the Canary Islands and America offers a monograph with publications of the Museums of Tenerife to publicize the publications of the Autonomous Body of Museums and Centers.
