The Local Government Board of City Hall of Santa Cruz yesterday ratified the extraordinary Public Employment Offer for the year 2022, comprising the positions that are being held by personnel who are susceptible to stabilization in accordance with the provisions of Law 20/2021, of December 28, on urgent measures for the reduction of temporality in public employment. with this to

sane, more than 300 workers will have the possibility of turning a job into a permanent position in which many have been working for more than 15 years, and more than 200 are already over 45 years old. The pandemic paralyzed the processes that had already been activated to fill these positions through competitive examination, without taking into account seniority or experience in the position. With the approval of Law 20/201, these variants have been introduced into the negotiation, reaching an agreement that the Governing Board made official yesterday.

The Public Employment Offer extraordinary stabilization has been the object of negotiation in the sessions of the General Negotiation Tables of Public Employees of the City Council that were held on April 27, May 4 and 6 of this year, reaching an agreement with 100% of the organizations trade unions in the last meeting held on the 6th and that affect 306 public places.

The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, highlighted the importance of the agreement and pointed out that, “in this way, Santa Cruz is among the first municipal administrations to comply with Law 20/2021, of December 28, on urgent measures and that gives stability to temporary jobs within the Consistory”. In addition, he added that “since the beginning of this year we have been in continuous dialogue with the unions to reach an agreement last week and where I want to thank the predisposition of all parties.”

For her part, the Councilor for Human Resources, Purificación Dávila, pointed out that “this agreement will guarantee compliance with this first part of the law that requires the publication of the OEP before June 1. The selection system will be the contest-opposition for the places affected by art. 2 (have been employed for more than three years), or competition for those affected by the sixth and eighth additional provision, taking into account mainly the experience in the body, scale, category or equivalent in question. We still have a long way to go, although I am confident that this OEP represents a good solution to provide job stability for the staff of the Santa Cruz City Council”.

The Plenary Session of the City Council, in an ordinary session held on December 29, 2021, agreed to approve initially, and definitively in the event that there were no claims during the period of public exposure, the file of the City Council Personnel Staff of Santa Cruz and its Autonomous Organisms of an administrative nature corresponding to the fiscal year 2022.
