The City Council of Candelaria and Aqualia, the company that manages the municipal supply service in this municipality in the South of Tenerife, have launched a fault notification service through SMS messages to mobile phones. This functionality is activated automatically for those users residing in the area affected by incidents such as a temporary supply cut, “whether caused by a breakdown or by maintenance works on the municipal water network,” they explain from Aqualia.

In order to benefit from this service, the customer must have fulfilled the requirement of having provided their mobile phone to Aqualia. Each affected will receive a warning message from the start of the incident, but “they will also be notified of the resolution of the problem and the restoration of their supply, if it has been previously suspended.”

The mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito (PSOE), considers that this service is very important for the residents and believes that “we must take advantage of technologies to create two-way, fluid and real-time communication. Something that we believe is achieved with this service update. That our neighbors and neighbors are informed through an SMS about if there is any cut or breakdown in their street or in their area of influence seems necessary to us, it gives the company and the town hall greater proximity and effectiveness in communications. In addition, it connects this administration, in this case through the concessionaire company Aqualia, with the public in a transparent and direct way».

The Councilor for Concession Companies, Airam Pérez, stated that, in addition to this progress, the Consistory is open to receiving suggestions, complaints and new ideas to continue improving services and transfer it to the corresponding entity, in this case Aqualia. from the government group they are “very happy with this update, which we believe is necessary and will greatly benefit the neighbors.”

Users can carry out their procedures with Aqualia through the face-to-face office; from the Aqualia Contact App; from its virtual office, accessible from the website www.aqualia.com, or through the free telephone number 900810818.
