They rescue three people in the sea in Tenerife and the search for the fourth missing swimmer is resumed

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –

A total of three people have been rescued during the afternoon of this Thursday in the area of ​​Cueva de El Tancón, in the municipality of Santiago del Teide (Tenerife), after they found themselves in trouble at sea, as reported by the Center Emergency and Security Coordinator of the 112 of the Canary Islands.

The rescue occurred after being alerted on 112 that there were four people in distress in the aforementioned place, which is why troops from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Canary Islands Government traveled to the area in a rescue helicopter and Land teams, as well as Tenerife Firefighters with four rescue vehicles and a boat, as well as another rescue boat from Salvamento Marítimo, being able to rescue three of the four people.

Next, the three rescued were taken to land, where a nurse who was at the scene verified that a 33-year-old woman had signs of drowning and was in cardiorespiratory arrest, for which he began basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of staff from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) who continued with the advancements and later transferred her to the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria University Hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition.

Likewise, SUC personnel assisted a man and a woman who, in both cases, had mild polyconusions, for which they were transferred to the Alcalá Health Center.

Local Police and Civil Guard agents also appeared at the scene of the incident.

RESUME THE SEARCH FOR A MISSING

On the other hand, during the morning of this Friday, the search device for the fourth bather will be resumed after the Tenerife Fire Brigade and members of the Local Police searched the coastal area during the night, without obtaining success.

Specifically, starting at 0800 hours, a helicopter and a Maritime Rescue boat have been incorporated, as well as members of the Special Group for Underwater Activities (GEAS) of the Civil Guard to search for the missing person.
