The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through its works and infrastructure department, led by Councillor Javier Rivero, has announced the reintroduction of 180 complimentary parking spaces in the Maritime Park vicinity, following the completion of works on 100% Sustainable Street. This represents a significant advancement in local mobility, easing access for both residents and visitors eager to enjoy this iconic and central location within the capital, as stated by mayor José Manuel Bermúdez.
The completed works on the 100% Sustainable Street have culminated in the reopening of the parking facility adjacent to Maritime Park, which now offers a total of 180 free parking spots. This area, which had been temporarily closed for refurbishment, is once again available to the public as of Wednesday this week.
It is important to note that although the installation of electric vehicle chargers is awaiting final connection by Endesa and the conclusion of necessary industry procedures, the parking area is already functional and prepared for use. This initiative underscores the commitment of Santa Cruz City Council towards sustainability and enhancing the quality of life for residents, whilst promoting the use of electric vehicles in the foreseeable future.
The Councillor for Works and Infrastructure further highlights that “the restoration of these 180 free parking spaces is fantastic news for both the locals and visitors of Santa Cruz” and asserts that “we not only enhance accessibility to the maritime park, but we are also progressing towards our goal of sustainable mobility.”
With this initiative, Santa Cruz de Tenerife continues to make significant strides towards becoming a more accessible, sustainable city dedicated to the welfare of its citizens.
