The company Iberia has lost the instruments, costumes and luggage of some of the members of the salsa orchestra El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico in Amsterdam. They are scheduled to perform in Tenerife this Saturday at the Cook Music Festival.
“Dear fans: Our instruments, costumes and several bags from El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico have been left partying in Amsterdam… Iberia still hasn’t found them, although the AirTags tell us exactly where they are!” the musical group stated on their Facebook account.
This week the orchestra has concerts scheduled in Tenerife and Milan, so they asked fans to help pressure Iberia to locate their belongings.
“We’re ready to perform this week in Tenerife and Milan, but we need Iberia to do their part to keep the salsa sounding as it should. Will you lend us a hand? We ask all our followers to help us by tagging/writing to @Iberia and demanding that our belongings be returned urgently,” emphasised El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico.
“As long as the world wants to dance, El Gran Combo will play!” the orchestra concluded.
In response, Iberia commented on the post: “Hello. We understand this situation and want to offer all our support to manage the location of your luggage.”
“To this end, would it be possible for you to provide us with your incident information? Was a PIR reference code generated at the airport? We would appreciate it if you could send us a private message with all the details. This way we can expedite the delivery process. Thank you,” concluded the airline.
Following this message, the group thanked their supporters for the assistance and confirmed that Iberia had contacted them to expedite the process. The legendary orchestra El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, founded in 1962 by Rafael Ithier, is one of the most important salsa groups at an international level.
