A new break in the Aguamansa channel registered at dawn this Tuesday compromises the supply of drinking water from Santa Úrsula to El Rosarioincluding areas of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and from La Laguna.
The data has been advanced by the Minister of Natural Environment, Sustainability, Emergencies and Security of the Council of TenerifeBlanca Pérez, in statements to the program Buenos Días of the Canary Islands Television.
Pérez has indicated that they are already accessing the area the operators accompanied by firefighters “let’s see if it can be repaired” because the channel is on a “very unstable” slope that has suffered “problems” in the form of landslides during the tenerife fire.
“Let’s hope it’s in an accessible area and it can be repaired, because otherwise we’re going to have serious supply problems,” said the counselor, since “there are 1,800 water pipes and with thehe water problem we have on the island It is the worst news we can give today”, the counselor admitted.
